Vintage Turkish Oushak Hallway Runner with Art Deco Mission Style 03'10 x 10'00
From Esmaili Rugs Collection.
 This hand-knotted wool vintage Turkish Oushak runner features a
paneled design with five large latch-hooked hexagonal medallions spread across
an abrashed ruby red field. Within each medallion, the lobes of eight-pointed
stars radiate outwards from a large center rectangle containing an amulet motif
composed of diamonds and triangles. Hooked spandrels decorate the sides of each
panel, while rows of multi-colored gridded right triangles with stepped
hypotenuses line the space between each panel. Accompanied by a simple rosette
and leaf outer border, the wide main border repeats the amulet design from the
center medallions. A variety of classic Anatolian symbols imbue this vintage
Oushak runner with meaning and a sense of tradition. Eight-pointed stars are
seen to represent happiness and spirituality, while amulets and diamonds
protect against evil. With its rich symbolism brought to life in a warm earthy
color palette and bold graphic design, this handsome vintage Turkish Oushak
runner would be a wonderful addition to any interior. Rendered in variegated
shades of ruby red, burgundy, wine, brick red, terra cotta, rust, pistachio,
