This hand-knotted wool vintage Turkish Oushak runner features
two large stepped hexagonal medallions with floral pendants spread across an
abrashed red field. Each medallion is decorated with interior latch-hooks,
large earring motifs, stars, and flowers, while an assortment of floral motifs
and diamonds are scattered throughout the field. Earrings are a common wedding
present in Anatolia and the use of this symbol represents the wish to get
married. Stars represent happiness and diamonds are thought to protect against
evil. A large complementary main border featuring outlined florets and diamond
bands frames the composition. With a warm golden color palette, an array of
traditional Anatolian symbols in a bold graphic design, and just the right
