Description:-
Vintage Berber Moroccan Rug, 0302 x 0501 from Esmaili Rugs Collection. This eclectic vintage Moroccan Azilal rug has a unique tribal design featuring energetic colors of red, yellow and green. With their plush pile and sturdy weave, Moroccan Azilal rugs are an ideal statement piece for nearly any room. The Berber women, for the most part, weave the rugs. They incorporate design elements from their personal experience into the rugs designs. The symbols are usually references to events and aspects of their daily life such as beliefs, birth, fertility, nature, femininity, life and spirituality. Some believed that the rugs could even ward off evil spirits so naturally, they incorporated designs such as diamonds and lucky charms to ward off the evil spirits and bring luck, prosperity and protection. The hints of dyes that make their way into the rugs motifs and fringes have their own tale to tell. . In Berber culture, the color red symbolizes strength and protection, blue symbolizes wisdom, yellow represents eternity and green stands for peace. The underestimated level of detail seen in these rural Moroccan rugs and carpets highlight the authentic and archaic spirit of tribal art. Measures: 03'02" x 05'01".
