With warm spice-tones and lovingly timeworn appearance, this hand knotted wool distressed vintage Turkish Oushak rug embraces modern rustic style. It features a traditional medallion design composed of a central medallion patterned with earring motifs, rosettes, diamonds, stars, and ambiguous Anatolian symbols. Earrings are a common wedding present in Anatolia and the use of this symbol represents the wish to get married. Stars represent happiness and diamonds are thought to protect against evil. A large compound border frames the composition.
