72632 Antique Persian Saraband Rug, 03'04 x 04'10.
The antique Persian Saraband rug features a delicate pattern of Mir
boteh motifs in diagonal rows in a beige field. The boteh resembles sprouting
seed and is known as the "Seed of Life." It represents potential for
growth and regeneration. The compound border is comprised of a thick zigzag
patterned band flanked with two thin floral-patterned borders. Rendered in
variegated shades of beige, tan, blue, salmon, red, mocha, orange, brown, pink
and black. The hand knotted rug is fringed to both ends in creamy beige.
Saraband Persian rugs are made in the SereBand district, located southwest of
Arak, Iran.
