Distressed Vintage Turkish Oushak Rug, 02'06 x 06'04.
This regal Turkish
Oushak Rug appears like a sumptuous Italian cut velvet, recalling the rich and
luxurious design furnishings of a bygone era such as the reign of King James I
in Jacobean England. Two large-scale cusped lozenge medallions connected by a
pole down the center anchored with latch-hooks. The two medallions are filled
with a crimson red cruciform (cross symbol) composed from the Elibelinde (hands
on hips) and Ram's Horn motif at either end on the pale sage-gray backdrop. The
weathered cut-out field is framed by an ivory outline dotted with eight-petal
rosette flowers. It is enclosed with a carnation meandering border. Romance and
whimsy collide in this seriously decorative carpet. If timeless style and
