Vintage Pakistani Persian Style Mihrab Prayer Rug From Esmaili Rugs Collection.
This hand-knotted wool
vintage Persian style prayer rug features two decorative columns supporting the
rose colored cusped arch pane while a middle pillar topped with blooming
flowers ascends toward the arched mihrab. With its stately design and feminine
color palette, this vintage prayer rug showcases climbing foliate vines against
a dark backdrop. Foliate capitals finish the outermost columns. It is framed
with a palmette vine main border flanked with a carnation and vine minor
border. Rendered in variegated shades of ink blue, dusty rose, mauve, baby
blue, slate blue, cerulean, bluish-grayish, ecru, khaki, beige, camel, celadon,
taupe, and rust. This Persian style prayer rug carries a regal air making it
suitable for a range of equally embellished furnishings and a variety of formal
and traditional interiors including Renaissance, Jacobean, and European style
interiors. A couple of small spots
