Description:-
77122 Vintage Turkish Oushak Rug with Modern Luxe Style and Bold Art Deco Design 13'00 x 17'08. Combining hard angles, a bold geometric pattern, and symmetry, this hand-knotted wool vintage Turkish Oushak rug embodies true Art Deco Period Style. It features alternating Gul and Cross-like motifs symmetrically streamlined in a geometric form. The angular curves, eight-point stars, stylized flowers, rosettes and the sharp-corned ziggurats along the inside of the border add interest and depth. It is enclosed with a wide rosette border flanked with an outer guard band composed of Kotchanak motifs and rosettes in alternating colors. Derived from the virility of the Ram's Horn motif, the Kotchanak is also a fertility symbol. The Classic Elibelinde motif, also known as the “hands on hips” or goddess motif, is thought to represent motherhood and fertility while ram’s horns represent masculinity and power. The fertility bereket motifs that appear combine the symbols of both man and woman, often referred to as ram’s Horn and hands-on-hips motifs, into one design with a diamond in the centre found in the outer guard band. Steeped in Anatolian history and culture, this evocative vintage Oushak runner’s rich symbolism, well-harmonized colors, and bold design combine to create a truly wonderful piece that would enliven nearly any interior. Noble and enchanting this vintage Oushak rug is successful across a variety of design applications. Perfect for a living room, library, dining room, front room, bedroom, parlor, studio, study, loft, and lounge, or it would make an excellent choice for a state room, great room, private Chambers, drawing room, or music room. Well-suited for a variety of interior styles: Modern, Art Deco, Art Moderne, Roman, Greek, Colonial, Federal, Mid-Century Modern, Contemporary, Rustic, Industrial, Primitive, Tribal, Lodge, Cabin. Bespeaking modern elegance, large-scale angular forms, and linear functionality, this vintage Oushak rug is the perfect complement to interiors with similar richness and rustic vibes including natural wood furnished chalets, estates, cottages, and mountainside abodes. Rendered in variegated shades of indigo, navy blue, brown, brick red barn, verdigris, beige, almond, warm bluish sky, and pale ochre. Abrash. Hand-knotted wool. Made in Turkey. Measures: 13'00 x 17'08.
