77119 Vintage Turkish Oushak Rug with Chintamani Pattern 11'02 x 13'08.

This hand-knotted wool vintage Turkish Oushak rug features a lively all-over
Chintamani pattern across an abrashed golden field. This classic Ottoman Court
motif consisting of three disks above two wavy lines is sometimes also referred
to as the badge of Tamerlane. The wide main border features a lovely cloud band
motif with large blossoms and vinery, while a delicate meander outer guard
border adds balance to the composition. A quite similar rug from the 17th
century, housed at the Museo Bardini in Florence, is featured in Enza Milanesi’s
"The Carpet: Origins, Art and History." Though reminiscent of its
ancient counterparts, this vintage Oushak rug also recalls the Art Deco era and
would add a touch of jazz-age splendor to any space.

Rendered in variegated
shades of saffron, goldenrod, brass, ocher, ink blue, navy blue, cerulean,
terra cotta, burnt orange, celadon and verdigris. Complementary SW Colors and
