integrated with a rich patina, this antique Persian Bakhtiari rug features a
garden design and traditional modern style. Classically composed and boasting a
truly magnificent panel compartment garden design, this antique Bakhtiari rug
reflects the finer points of timeless Persian rug trends. A variety of Persian
flowers, blossoms and vines are placed inside of elegantly cusped lozenges.
Rendered in variegated shades from oxblood red and burgundy to bright red,
raspberry and pink to navy blue, blue, beige and brown and ivory-cream. The
stylized diamond medallions alternate between colors nicely displaying the
divided compartmental field. The complementary ivory border of this antique
Persian rug creates a beautiful frame. Possessing a beautiful color combination
and gentle waves of abrash, this Persian Bakhtiari rug is all-encompassing yet
original and charmingly distinctive. It mixes well with modern spaces and will
liven up neutral decor. Hand-knotted wool. Made in Persia (Iran). Measures:
10'02 X 15'08. Date: 1920 to 1929. Early 20th Century. Good
Condition - Wear consistent with age and history.
