Ravishing and refined, this hand knotted wool vintage Persian Yazd area rug features large-scale round circular medallion anchored with ink blue pendants at either end and outlined with a bluish-grey acanthus vine. An all-over botanical garden scene stems from the vase of blossoms and tree branches and blossoms at either end of the Persian rug. Blooming palmettes, leafy tendrils, hyacinth, lilies, blossoms, rosettes, curled sickle leaves, arabesque vines and branches dance around the roundel medallion. Curled sickle leaves and arabesque vines create a frame for the royal blue corner spandrels adorned with palmettes, stylized flowers and rosettes. It is enclosed with an elaborate palmette border flanked with double inner and outer Meander guard bands.
