Persian Mahal Rug with Traditional Style 9'07 x 13'00 From Esmaili Rugs
Collection. Characterizing classic traditional style, this sublime antique
Persian Mahal rug features an ornate center diamond medallion surrounded by
some all-over geometric floral motifs. The floral embellishments cover the
time-softened rust colored field with layers of meticulous details. Delicate
ribbon style guard bands complement the warm brown main border, elaborating the
design to a point of casual elegance. The warm color palette consists of rust,
brown, green, blue, teal, apricot, blush and beige. From the time-softened
colors and intimate patina, this Persian Mahal rug is remarkably captivating
throughout and well-suited for a range of interiors. Hand-knotted wool. Made in
Iran (Persia). Measures: 09'07 X 13'00.
Date: 1920 to 1929. Early 20th Century. Good Condition - Wear
consistent with age and history.
