Brimming with timeless style, incredible detail and texture, this hand knotted wool vintage Persian Mahal rug is a captivating vision of woven beauty. The intricate geometric design and sophisticated color palette woven into this piece work together creating a truly classic look. A small-scale allover pattern composed of Mir Boteh motifs is systematically dispersed across the lively red field. Boteh motifs are well-established and typically symbolize life due to its likeness of pinecones, flames, sprouts, leaves, and other similar forms. Framing the composition is a scrolling boteh Shekeri border. A series of guard borders add definition and a sense of order to this Persian area rug.
