75614 Vintage Persian Mahal Rug, 09'09 x 12'03.
Traditional elegance meets subtle sophistication in this hand-knotted wool vintage Persian Mahal rug. The geometric botanical design and refined color palette woven into this piece work together creating a classic look. An allover pattern composed of Herati motifs covers the abrashed red field. The Herati design is among the most widespread and well known of all Persian patterns, consisting of a flower centered in a diamond accompanied by curving lanceolate leaves that resemble fish. A boteh floral border enclosed with carnation meander guard bands elegantly frames this large Persian area rug. Set off with its highly decorative details and relaxed formality, this vintage Mahal rug displays Persian culture throughout this sophisticated composition.
- Rendered in variegated shades of red, sky blue, beige, rose, green, brown, tan, verdigris, taupe and black with other accent colors.
