Description:-
30976 Judith Johansson Swedish Style Kilim Rug, 09'10 x 10'03.
Scandinavian Modern style meets ethereal elegance in this handwoven wool Swedish style kilim rug. The eye-catching geometric design and atmospheric colorway woven into this piece work together creating a truly unique look. An allover pattern made up of lozenges within lozenges, diamonds and rhombus shapes work in sequence cultivating a beautiful juxtaposition among the design.
This Swedish style kilim rug is inspired by Judith Johansson and her Fonstret design in 1988. Reminiscent of stained glass Church windows, the ethereal backdrop and the expert use of shading gives the piece a painterly quality reminiscent of watercolors and gouaches. The use of abrash is deliberate; intended to capture nature's capriciousness in the same way sunlight casts shadows.
