This is a pair of matching vintage Turkish rugs. Each piece is hand knotted from wool featuring a central medallion of deep sapphire navy blue on a dusty rose backdrop laced with angular sapphire vines. Each vintage Sivas rug is bordered with a band of replicated palmettes in light rose color, capped by two end pieces of lotus in a repeated mihrab style pattern. Sivas is a large town in Armenia, on the export path of Iran and Iraq, these gorgeous rugs exhibits the talent of Turkish weavers with the brilliant color palette of and design of Persia.
