Running the length of the Kars gallery rug area four large-scale sawtooth hexagonal medallions patterned with earring motifs. A variety of flowers and traditional Anatolian symbols, including burdocks, rosettes, and hair band motifs are spread throughout the composition. Earrings, a common wedding present in Anatolia, represent marriage. Sawtooth and Burdock symbols are both used to protect against evil. It is finished with a leaf and calyx style (wine glass) border flanked with an inner diagonal stripe guard border and an inner T-shape Meander guard stripe.
