The highly decorative Aubusson design and happy hues woven into this piece work together creating a look of pure decadence. Cleveryly composed, a blooming garden arranged in a compartmental design covers the field. A bouquet of lavender flowers rests on a chocolate oval backdrop and surrounded by an elaborate rose and floral garland. Rectangular latticework panels decorated with floral wreaths enclose the central medallion. Delicate round floral wreaths adorn each corner spandrel. Opulent green frondescence and blue ribbons further ornament the field. An equally lavish floral and rose border creates a harmonious enclosure and a refreshing finish to this formal composition.
