Stately elegance meets timeless appeal in this hand knotted wool vintage Pakistani Serapi rug. The decorative geometric details and sophisticated color palette woven into this piece work together creating a classic yet modern look. The abrashed red field features a superimposed octofoil medallion anchored with flaming palmette pendants. An allover angular pattern composed of stylized florals, blooming palmettes, serrated leaves and angular vines further ornament the field. Ivory spandrels radiate from the corners echoing designs within the field. A traditional Samovar turtle vine scroll border enclosed with floral guard borders elegantly frame the composition. Reflecting traditional sensibility and classic iterations of red, ivory and navy blue make this make this vintage Serapi area rug a beautiful expression of American, British, or French patriotism.
