20013 Vintage Berber Moroccan Red Rug, Tribal Style Moroccan Hallway Shag Runner. This hand-knotted wool vintage Berber Moroccan rug beautifully highlights tribal style. This Moroccan rug is heavily ornamented by the shape of a diamond, which symbolizes the power of femininity and the nature of a woman. The diamonds along the center are known to symbolize a woman's openness to conception and the prediction of a pregnancy. The stacked diamonds take center stage and are flanked with three-pronged motifs also known as twigs which represent the male's role in reproduction. Blue zigzag lines formed next to the beige border are referred to as snakes and symbolize male potency. The Moroccan rug is framed by beige colored vertical borders with the three-prong twig male symbols, which are commonly placed on the outside of the rug as protection. In Moroccan rugs, male motifs often appear on the outer portions of the composition, framing and enclosing the female motifs. This presentation can be seen as symbolizing fertility, as well as protection and the sanctuary of the family.
