Traditional Vintage Persian Heriz Rug with Jacobean Style 06'11 X 09'09 From
Esmaili Rugs Collection. This hand-knotted wool vintage Persian Heriz rug features a large
concentric octofoil medallion with palmette pendants floating in the center of
an abrashed red field. Closed palmettes decorate each lobe of the interior
medallion, while the palmettes appear open and blooming in the lobes of the
larger medallion. Palmettes, lanceolate leaves, buds and blooms emanate outward
from the medallion filling the field. The corner spandrels exquisitely repeat the
botanical designs used throughout the piece. Delicate rosette guard borders and
listels accompany a stylized Herati main border featuring samovar-shaped
palmettes. The more geometric secondary borders effectively contrast the more
curvilinear designs of the rest of the composition. Ivory spandrels and
accents, in coordination with the otherwise darker and moodier color palette,
give definition and dimension to the intricate floral designs. This Persian
Heriz rug would be a stately presence in any space. Rendered in variegated
shades of rustic brick red, scarlet red, ruby red, rust, terra cotta, ink blue,
brass, camel, dark green, bottle green, sage, olive, verdigris, salmon, peach,
