Based on traditional designs from the Caucasus region, this hand-knotted wool
antique Caucasian Shirvan rug features three Lesghi Stars surrounded by classic
Caucasian motifs representing protection, longevity and fertility. It is
finished with a leaf and calyx style (wine glass) border flanked with two
rosette borders and subsidiary guard bands composed of repeating Elibelinde
motifs.
