Oushak Rug Runner, 01'11 x 08'07.
This hand-knotted wool vintage Turkish Oushak runner features three floral
lozenge-shaped medallions with palmette pendants spread across an abrashed
brick red field. Each medallion is outlined with a delightful series of round
rosettes and protruding curling boteh-shaped blooms, which are contrasted by
the more graphic and angular tulip designs in the centers of the medallions.
Stepped corner spandrels and ziggurats filled with flowering vines reach towards
the center. A simple saw-tooth border frames the design, while two pairs of
blossom meander and lappet panel bookend the composition. With its classic and
versatile color palette based around rusty reds and soft grays, this vintage
Turkish Oushak rug would be a comfortable and charming addition to any
interior.
