This hand-knotted wool vintage Turkish Oushak runner features an all-over geometric boteh pattern spread across an abrashed coffee colored field. The widely used boteh motif is thought to symbolize life with its resemblance to a number of natural forms, including leaves, bushes, pinecones, sprouts and flames. In this vintage Oushak runner, the offset rows of boteh in alternating colors and directions bring a sense of dynamism to the bold design. The main border features a series of squared quatrefoil rosettes and is accompanied by two rosette and cross inner guard borders. The smaller-scale borders provide a nice contrast to the large-scale boteh of the field, further augmenting the
graphic appeal of the overall composition. With its classic, vibrant design and
warm color palette, this vintage Turkish Oushak rug would enhance any space.
