Taking center stage is a concentric lobed medallion anchored with palmette pendants at either end. The timeless allover Herati pattern and refined colors woven into this vintage Tabriz rug work together creating a truly classic look. Is is enclosed with a traditional Herati border flanked with a series of inner and outer guard bands. Decadent beauty in a warm and regal color palette this vintage Persian rug is the answer to elevated traditional furnishings.

The geometric Herati design is typically referenced as fish or Mahi pattern. It is amongst the most widespread and well known of all Persian designs, consisting of a flower centered in a diamond accompanied by curving lanceolate leaves that resemble fish. The Herati motif is widely used in Iran and believed to represent the small fishes come up just beneath the surface of the water to swim in the full moon’s reflection.
