Traditional Vintage Persian Heriz Rug with Modern Rustic Style 07'03 X 10'00 From Esmaili Rugs
Collection. This hand-knotted wool vintage Persian Heriz rug features a
large serrated octofoil medallion with palmette pendants floating in the center
of an abrashed red field. The octagram, or eight-pointed star, often appears as
a medallion design in Heriz rugs. Sometimes referred to as the “Seal of the
Prophets,” the octagram symbolizes faith and spirituality. A variety of
geometric floral motifs surround the medallion in an intricate arrangement of
palmettes, serrated leaves, boteh, buds, blooms, rosettes, diamonds, and small
amulets. Stepped corner spandrels echo the designs of the medallion and field,
while a line of boteh along the edges connect the spandrels. A stylized
palmette main border and running water guard borders pull together colors from
throughout the piece into a unified, well-harmonized palette. With its bold
design and just the right amount of age-wear, this vintage Heriz rug would add
style and panache to any space. Rendered in variegated shades of rust, brick
red, terra cotta, coral, salmon, ivory, cream, beige, green, olive, sage, pink,
cerulean, sky blue, ink blue, navy blue, royal blue and cobalt. Perfect for a
bedroom, front room, living room, drawing room, state room, great room, game
room, library, parlor, office, studio, study, or sitting room. Well-suited for
a wide range of interior styles: Traditional, Transitional, Eclectic, Modern,
Mid-Century Modern, Contemporary, Industrial, Rustic, Lodge, Cabin, Cottage,
Bungalow, Manor House, Victorian, Arts & Crafts, Craftsman, Tudor,
Jacobean, Edwardian, Spanish Revival, Mediterranean, English Country, Bohemian,
Boho Chic, Ethnic, Primitive and Tribal. Abrash. Hand-knotted wool. Made in
Iran. Measures: 07’03 X 10’00.
