This antique Persian Malayer runner is made with hand-knotted
wool and camel hair. The antique Persian runner features two off-set stair-step
hexagonal medallions anchored with finials floating in a repetitive geometric
background of protection motifs. Navy blue spandrels are found in each corner
and also separate the two medallions. It is enclosed with a rectilinear border,
flanked by an outer crenelated fence guard band symbolizing protection.
Delicate waves of abrash sweep across the subtly repetitive patterned field
highlight its modern style and bold elemental nature. The camel hair produces a beautiful range of
soft and lustrous earth tones from wheat to walnut, significantly enhancing the
aesthetic of this antique Persian Malayer runner.
