This hand knotted wool vintage Turkish Oushak
rug features a lobed floral center medallion with palmette pendants floating on
an abrashed scarlet red field. Dramatic and opulent, this vintage Oushak rug
combines a traditional sensibility and Fine detailing with a sumptuous color
palette. Graceful floral blooms and sprigs radiate outward from the medallion
in a spirited and delightful manner. Small palmettes, rosettes, cloud bands and
acanthus leaves fill the corner spandrels, while delicate flowers protrude
outwards from the edges into the field. Large open blossoms, lotuses, curled
leaves and scrolling vines elegantly fill the main border, while a delicate
S-shape barber’s pole inner guard borders adds balance and a welcome touch of
simplicity to the composition. With its warm, saturated colors and
