The Brutalist Movement meets Modern Industrial style in this hand knotted wool vintage Turkish overdyed rug. The faded botanical design and monochromatic color palette in this piece work together capturing the zeitgeist of Brutalism's eminence. A barely-there cusped lozenge medallion floats in the center of the composition. An allover pattern composed of biomorphic forms and unusual organic shapes seamlessly evanesce before one's eyes into the richly striated field. The tranquility of gray hues tones balances the bluish tones creating a captivating juxtaposition. Equally compelling is a barely-there botanical border and meander guard borders completing the look. Reflecting laid-back luxury and utilitarian appeal, this vintage overdyed rug dances between the realm of simplicity and purity of form cultivating a hint of mystery while embracing Anatolian history.
