Arts and Crafts style meets subtle sophistication in this hand knotted wool vintage Turkish rug. The intricate botanical design and soft earthy-inspired hues woven into this piece work together resulting in a sophisticated yet welcoming feel. Radiating from the center is a delicate round medallion patterned with small cross, florals and foliage. The composition features an elaborate concentric design composed of lobed lozenges decorated with an impressive array of stylized florals, leafy tendrils, tiny quatrefoil shapes, vine stems, serrated leaves, and ambiguous tribal motifs. It is framed with a rectilinear botanical border enclosed with sawtooth and geometric meander guard borders. Imbued with naturalism and beguiling charm in soft earth-tone colors, this vintage Turkish rug has an element of the unexpected with a feeling of chic effortlessness.
