Description:-
52137 Rustic Vintage Turkish Sivas Rug, 06'08 x 09'03.
Emanating nomadic charm with incredible detail and texture, this hand knotted wool vintage Turkish Sivas rug is a captivating vision of woven beauty. The tribal design and faded earth-tone colors woven into this piece work together creating a truly one-of-a-kind look. An allover pattern composed of ambiguous motifs and tribal symbols run from top to bottom of te composition. Full of tiny details and Anatolian history, this distressed Turkish rug displays symbols of Burdock, Bereket, Hook, Ram's Horn, and Elibelinde. The symbols represent marriage (Hook), fertility (Bereket), and abundance (Burdock). The Classic Elibelinde motif, also known as the 'hands on hips' or goddess motif, is thought to represent motherhood and fertility while ram’s horns represent masculinity and power. The fertility bereket motifs that appear combine the symbols of both man and woman, often referred to as ram’s Horn and hands-on-hips motifs, into one design with a diamond in the centre. Rich in symbolism and soft earth-tone colors, this versatile Turkish rug is well-suited for a variety of interiors.
