carpet runner is patterned with whimsical boteh and vibrant colors that
represent the versatile style of the small village between Arak and Hamadan. An
inset central medallion of persimmon outlined in sky blue is surrounded by a
busy field of frenzied vines blooming with rows of diagonal boteh motifs. Vivid
yellow-saffron spandrels are filled with stylized flowers. The Persian hallway
runner is framed by a navy-blue border patterned with alternating rectilinear
motifs and stylized flowers, flanked with two running dog guard borders. This
exquisite example of the small village exemplifies the playful intensity of the
