This antique Persian Ziegler Mahal showcases a classic Sultanabad design composed of large-scale blooming palmettes, lotus, pomegranates, stylized flowers, sprigs of Hyacinth, peonies, lilies, and iris connected by a lozenge trellis. It is enclosed with a turtle vine scroll border, flanked with a series of carnation meander guard bands, meander borders. A protection inner crenelated fence guard band and outer sawtooth guard band add interest and depth to this antique Persian palace rug.

In step with the beginning of the Arts and Crafts movement, Ziegler modified designs to be larger size, along with a larger rug size to suit western room specifications.
