This hand knotted wool antique-washed antique Persian Malayer runner features a latch-hooked hexagonal medallion with palmette pendants floating on an abrashed ecru field. The medallion and spandrels both feature an attractive Herati design, while small birds and floral bouquets dot the field around the medallion. The Herati pattern, also known as the Mahi or Fish pattern, is amongst the most widespread and well known of all oriental rug designs, consisting of a flower centered in a diamond accompanied by curving lanceolate leaves that resemble fish.
