This hand-knotted wool vintage Berber Moroccan Azilal rug features a Bohemian tribal style. Azilal carpets typically have an ivory to cream background with tribal symbols and geometric shapes in vibrant colors. The ivory field harmonizes nicely with the green, golden yellow and black colors. The stacked black geometric motifs take center stage as they run along the rug’s center enclosed by a yellow border outlined in black. Free range diamonds and tribal symbols run along each side symmetrically. The black and ivory checkered pattern symbols represent women, beauty and fertility. Diamonds in bold colors are believed to ward off evil spirits.
